Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is a physical performance testing instrument that uses the principle of high-frequency electromagnetic wave reflection to detect underground structures. It is primarily used in transportation engineering fields such as roads, railways, and tunnels. This instrument can detect the thickness of road structure layers, the location of underground buried objects, and the quality of tunnel lining. It features multi-band antennas, wireless connectivity, and an integrated main unit design. The mobile intelligent tunnel GPR detection equipment launched in 2024 effectively improves the accuracy and efficiency of tunnel detection through a mobile scraper system.

Main functions:

1. Road inspection: Measuring the thickness of structural layers, locating underground pipelines, reinforcing bars, and other buried objects; tunnel advance prediction; lining thickness and quality inspection, etc. [1-2];
2. Tunnel inspection: Advance geological prediction; assessing lining thickness and quality [1-2]; detecting the thickness of road structural layers, the quantity and location of buried objects (including reinforcing bars, underground pipelines, etc.) [1];
3. Environmental and mining: Detecting the thickness of road structural layers, locating underground pipelines, tunnel advance prediction, etc.
