Utilizing a specially structured acoustic vibration sensor and low-noise dedicated components for pre-amplification, the sensitivity of the instrument's point-finding and path detection is greatly improved. In terms of signal processing technology, the digital display of the distance between the fault point and the sensor probe significantly eliminates the blind spots during point-finding.

In the past, the vibration of the entire cable in overhead faulty cables within cable trenches rendered any point-finding instrument ineffective in determining the specific location of enclosed faults. Now, simply touching the sensor probe of this instrument to the faulty cable or a nearby cable allows for precise display of the fault distance, effortlessly and quickly pinpointing the fault location.

The power frequency adaptive cancellation theory and high-Q power frequency notch filtering technology greatly enhance the suppression and anti-interference capabilities of 50Hz power frequency signals in strong power frequency electric field environments, reducing the point-finding blind zone. Functionally, the instrument utilizes acoustic-electric synchronous reception and display technology to effectively overcome the difficulties in point-finding caused by ambient noise interference at the testing site. In particular, the digital display of fault distance eliminates the need for operators to analyze and judge complex waveforms, largely replacing the coarse distance measurement function of the flash distance meter. For faulty cables hundreds of meters long, location can generally be determined without coarse measurement, truly achieving high efficiency, speed, and accuracy. Utilizing 15kHz amplitude-modulated electromagnetic waves and amplitude detection technology for path detection and cable burial depth determination avoids interference from the television's horizontal frequency on the location meter when using a constant-amplitude 15kHz signal source.
