Acoustic Type: Captures the acoustic signal (frequency 100-2000Hz) generated by water leakage, amplifies and analyzes it through a microphone to locate the leak point. Suitable for detecting metal/plastic water pipes and walls, with a sensitivity ≥1000μv/g. For example, the JT-2000 model supports 60 hours of continuous operation with a magnification of up to 1000 times.

Gas-type: Locates leaks by sensing or tracing gases (such as a hydrogen-nitrogen mixture) using electromagnetic waves; suitable for deeply buried pipelines or minor leaks. Magnetic field type detects the current loop of the corrosion-resistant coating damage, while gas-type detects leaks by concentration peaks.

Gas Detection Operation Procedure

Locate the leaking pipe and seal it off as much as possible. Find an injection port and inject tracer gas into the pipe. After injecting some gas, find a pressure relief port to drain the water from the pipe, allowing the gas to leak to the ground more quickly. For leaks with small water volume, air injection is not necessary; simply wait for the gas to seep to the ground and repeatedly inspect the leaking area with the equipment. Until a suspected leak is found, keep the suction mode on to quickly identify the tracer gas with the equipment. When inspecting larger leaks, use an air compressor to dilute the tracer gas to save on gas costs. The timing of gas seepage to the ground will vary depending on the size of the leak, the pipe laying method, and the ground environment; the exact timing will depend on the specific situation and analysis.
